I found a recipe somewhere online a while back that I really like and it works. It was for wood but I have used it on other porous materials as well. 1cup vinegar, 1cup boric acid, 1gallon of water. Boric acid is a poison and usually used to kill cockroaches. Vinegar and hydrogen peroxide also works well and smells better

Someone in construction told me commercial peroxide will kill black mold. Use a sprayer to apply. Does not get rid of stain.

I’ve read some research said that baking soda and hydrogen peroxide is a great cleaner. I pour the baking soda into the toilet, then hydrogen peroxide then I add a few drops of orange essential oil. It works great.

In reply to Sami. What about black mold in the clear shower bar that’s built in? Our house is only 2 years old, and in the seal where the bar is attached to the shower we have black and pink mold - and the bar doesn’t come off. I clean and scrub the showers weekly and this is only happening in one of our bathrooms.

I’m confused. What is the best formula to get rid of the mold. I’ve seen several suggestions but what is the best especially for the ceiling and caulk

The absolute BEST mould remover/killer/cleaner…

Make a paste (to pancake batter consistency) of baking soda and BLUE dawn dish soap. Slather EVERYWHERE!!! Leave it be for 15 to 20 minutes. Spray it down with white vinegar let it fizz. Wipe off with damp cloth when fizzing stops, 3 to five minutes.
Remove left over stains by treating again the same way.
