I had the same thought- “does she work for cascade?”

Worked beautifully for me. I’m in south Austin so I added some vinegar to the rinse basket.

Homemade Liquid Dishwasher Detergent Ingredients doesn’t say how much water to add to the milk jug. Also, is the jug gallon or half gallon. I don’t buy milk so I need to fill a creamer bottle and need to make sure I am using enough water.

In reply to GiniD. Not only that, but the high salt content destroyed the finish on my dishes. I'm angry and frustrated, because they were less than a year old, and now they're all ruined!

I’m not sure the money saving is worth it, but I do like the idea of saving on plastic. Some of the brands which individually wrap each tablet in plastic wrappers that has to be binned is beyond me!

In reply to Charlotte. Yes! I have used all of the name brands! The one that works the best for me is Finish and adding White Vinegar in my dishwasher cup! No spots and cloudiness to my dishes. Lemon juice also works, but I found the vinegar works the best!

In reply to GiniD. I respectfully disagree. I have used several and they all work well. To avoid spots I fill my rinse resovior with white vinegar. Lumping them all together as not working makes me wonder if you work for Cascade.

In reply to GiniD. Good to know your review of them!! That's always my worry too. I think in a pinch, these are great, or if you really want to DIY things, but the commercial ones work so well. I personally like Finish better than Cascade, but whatever works for you!

The DIY dishwasher tabs and other recipes simply do not work. whether you have hard water or neutral water, you are not going to be pleased. I’ve tried them all and trust me, you are better off spending a little extra money on some decent manufactured dishwasher tabs then going to the trouble of making up your own solution and tablets. Maybe in a pinch they will work oh, but you are still going to have spots and cloudiness on your dishes. Cascade Platinum is by far the best dishwasher detergent your money can buy and it is worth it.
