In reply to Erinn. Hang in there!! Marriage takes work and almost rewiring your brain! I wrote this like seven years ago, only like 3 years into my marriage. Take baby steps toward flipping your mindset! Read some marriage books. Talk to a woman who you admire who is married about this. Your husband isn't the enemy. He does love you.

Thanks for the help. I need to read this every day. I apparently am that negative, nagging, think everything, every chore has to be split evenly and fair. He definaltly doesn’t do his half. We both think the other doesn’t spend enough time with our 2 year old. We have different parenting styles and judge each other on them. I try not to disrespect my husband, but everything I say, he thinks is disrespectful. I am having a difficult time trusting him, not controling and doing all you mentioned I need to do.

Thank you for these inspiring words! I am getting married in 5 weeks, and this article was such a good reminder that the Lord always has something better in store for us – it doesn’t make sense to dwell on the small things. Focus on how a husband and wife can work together as a team to create a beautiful eternal family here on earth. (P.s. Don’t you just love President Uchdorf? He’s one of my fave!) Thanks again!

I love this post! We have to remember we are a team. We however are human. We have to learn to recognize when we start comparing or competing with our spouse. For me when I start thinking about all the things I am doing “right” and he is doing “wrong” I make myself think about the things he is doing “right”. It doesn’t take much of this before I am reminded just how awesome he is and all that he does for us. Thank you for linking up to Wedded Wednesday today!

I am thankful to our Lord for placing this on Pintrest. My husband and I were bickering about the laundry, dishes, which one of us was picking up the kids from school. I was streaming mad when I sat down to relax an pin a couple of items, when I stumbled across this on another board. Your reminder that this stuff won’t matter in 5 years, so get over it, helped take all the bitterness I was feeling and dried it up like the sun to a rain puddle.
