I love the “Motherhood IS me time” thought. A lot of the time when I think I need to get away, what I really need is to get my head in the game and actually enjoy the day-to-day of mothering. Having kids isn’t a time-out on my lifelong quest for personal fulfillment and satisfaction; I’m sure that nothing else I ever do will come closer to realizing my full potential.

Life as a parent sometimes means pushing through our exhaustion, and I think if we can forget ourselves, and our need for downtime/rest/sleep, and remember that this is actually what we signed up for when we got pregnant, that our attitudes will be better in those hard moments.

“No, they often need us in the moments when we at our limits, and most want to fit in time alone.” I love this so much! Right now I have to have my me time while my kids nap. But the days they don’t, it does get hard. But you’re right. They need us. And only us. Nobody else can do what we can. So we need to be better and put them first!
