I looked at international standards as well. The country with the lowest child mortality rates was where I looked to when making our decision. It is not uncommon for 6yr olds to be rear facing there. I cried the day I had to turn her at age 4.5. Now at 7, we are coming up against the booster seat issue. We don’t have to make it until some time next year, but I thank you for that section that mentioned frequent car sleepers. She has maturity, age, and size, but we live in the county, and she falls asleep in the car at least twice a week. This information helps a lot!

Seriously, so much. I turned my youngest two kids around early, at the suggestion of their doctor, because they were so tall that their legs didn’t have enough room.
