I usually have good luck just adding some baking soda to every wash. Baking soda also helps the musty smell in our water caused by an algae problem that we have in our local reservoir that otherwise makes ever load smell like mildew.

One of my least favorite smells is a used dish rag the next day after it has dried. While I think it stinks, my cat loves it. I have to hide it from him so he doesn’t roll allover it and transfer the odor onto himself.

The worst smell that I’ve ever encountered was when my dog rolled in dead, rotting moose parts at the beach. I cannot even adequately describe how bad and vomitinducing that smell was.
