Everyone probably doesn’t have a stalker… (Yet…) I actually am NOT a very nervous or overly worried person, generally speaking, and have a very high level of trust of most people I meet and consider myself pretty relaxed and easy-going. BUT, when it comes to protecting yourself and your kids online, I seriously think twice, thanks to all the crap I’ve been victim to firsthand. I don’t know who will see things online, and that’s the terrifying thing about it – I can in my personal, real life, to some degree control where I will be, and what others around me can learn about me and my children. But, the internet is a wild wilderness of anonymity.

You can do as you please online. This article was meant to be an eye-opener to some of the stuff that DOES happen online each and every day to normal, innocent people who are just happily sharing their lives with complete strangers. If it doesn’t bother you, it doesn’t bother you, so keep doing so as you want. But, know that just because there are laws “preventing” people from sharing other people’s information and pictures, does NOT mean it doesn’t happen (why do you think there are those laws in the first place?). Pictures are stolen and used without permissions hundreds of times each day. (Hello memes!)
