I like the thoughts you expressed about aligning your prayers with God’s will. Praying scripture is very helpful for that also. God is going to give us the things He has told us to ask for.
I have always prayed, mostly for other people, but it has often been sporadically. I’ve had prayer journals and prayer lists, but that hasn’t worked for long for me. Recently I have decided to be much more intentional about my prayer life. I put reminders in my phone to help with that. And I have started a binder to help me be intentional about the people and things I am praying for.

I have read some other books on the subject too and I like your thought process although a lot of what I read repeatedly reminded me (us) not to doubt so I struggle a little with the “But if not” part. At the same time I love the idea behind it because you’re right, God’s not a gennie, if it’s not his will then we need to accept things that don’t go the way we think it should go. God often has a different plan. Thank you for the post.

Teaching my children about prayer is definitely something I could improve on since 90% of my children’s prayers sound exactly the same and involve being thankful for the day and praying for safety.
