Absolutely!! There are worse things than having a C section…. Much worse. They save lives. Plain and simple. I cannot imagine having to vaginally deliver breech twins!

I know you weren’t saying that having c-sections makes you less of a woman; sorry if my comment made it sound like I was putting words in your mouth. But sadly there are people who think that anything less than a (fill in the blank – natural birth, birth at home, unassisted birth, whatever) is a failure. I figure as long as mom and baby both come out of it alright, it’s a success.

Scary! I know with my son, who was 13 days overdue, they were not going to let me go into that 42 week because there has been confirmed research that says nothing really “good” happens after that mark, and baby should really come. I do think, letting them bake until at least 40 weeks, if they cooperate, helps with lung development, avoiding NICU time, and they tend to be bigger and bigger babies tend to be easier overall.

I don’t think women are “less than” for only having C-sections or whatever. That’s ridiculous. C-sections are rough! I didn’t think mine was that terrible (though I didn’t like some of the things the day of… but that’s a story for a different day) but I was also like 21 years old.

Definitely no shame! You aren’t really “more of a mom” for delivering vaginally, or less of one for having a C-section. C-sections save lives. Period. No shame in that at all. I hope she’ll find this helpful should she be pregnant again and not want another C-section.
