Hi, Katelyn and thank you for your amazing post. You surely help a lot of people and this is awesome. These tips are exactly what I need for the move I’m planning next week. Pack your food up, or make a trip to the grocery store. Have easy to eat meals on hand so you don’t have to eat out too much.

I think we can all agree that moving is one of the most stressful times of our lives and for good reason. We are attempting to move all of our belongings from one house to another without losing anything in the process. That can get pretty stressful. Now add in a couple of kids and you have something close to chaos. The best thing you can do is smile and make the moving process fun for everyone.

Wow, there are so many great moving tips here! I really liked what you said about getting friends to help you move…and then getting backups just in case those friends fall through! Moving can be quite a daunting task, and having lots of people to help definitely makes it easier. It’s true what they say: many hands make light work. When my husband and I moved into our current house we had both of our families come and help us and it wasn’t bad at all!

If you’re asking for help moving items into the truck, have everything already packed and in one room. That way when the people get there, there’s no question of what needs to be done. We were done packing all of our things (heavy couches, beds, and all) in 9 minutes. If you’re not all packed and still in the process, it makes things a lot harder for you and the people volunteering their time.
