I’m a firm believer that it’s on God’s time. My sister and daughter both got pregnant while using birth control, so God obviously had a plan they were not aware of. Second, if we all waited until we were financially secure and all the stars were aligned to have a baby, humans would go extinct in a hurry. I’m sure happy for you and all your sweet babies.

Oh man, I love this post so much! Deciding when to have kids is such a big decision, and it is between you, your husband, and the Lord. It took us a while to decide we were ready, and we both had to be on the same page. It’s such a crazy journey, and I have loved every minute of it! Our daughter came a lot faster than our son, and she was exactly what our families needed because one month after we found out, my father-in-law passed away. Heavenly Father knows what we need more than we do, and His timing is always right. If we trust in Him we can be positive, happy, and sure!

In reply to Nina. Yes, the twin part! Oh my! We didn't know it was twins until our 18 week ultrasound!! SHOCK! And I do not regret having my kids. There have been times I regretted having them when we did, but with time I have seen that it's been a blessing, despite how hard some things were because we did. We learned a lot about ourselves and life and marriage and family and finances in the process.

What a cool insight into learning about your first pregnancy, Katelyn! It’s so true: there is never regret in having kids. And it seems like you guys balanced practicality with whatever may be. I laughed at the twins part too because I could so relate! When I got that pregnancy test, I was expecting ONE, not two, and only learned about the twins much later 🙂
