Hey there! What’s up? I’m Katelyn Fagan. Welcome to my website (formerly named What’s up Fagans?)!
Here on Home Cleaning Family, we strive to be the go-to resource on all things home and family.
Our posts are informative, honest, thorough, and helpful on topics such as marriage, pregnancy, motherhood, raising kids, holidays, and deep cleaning and organizing the house.
We want to help you manage your own home and family life with all the tools and information you need to be successful, the first time. That means we share what worked for us and what totally didn’t work for us.
We do some research, poll other parents, and share the best of the best tips and advice with you so you can best decide how to move forward in your own home and family.
If you’re social, I’d love for you to sign up for our newsletter and/or follow me on Facebook | Pinterest | Instagram | TikTok | Youtube where we share more of our everyday life. Or drop me an email at katelyn@homecleaningfamily.com.
Home Cleaning Family Founding
Home Cleaning Family (then whatsupfagans.blogspot.com) began back in 2009, a few months after my husband Joshua and I were married as a way to share our life with friends and family out-of-state.
In 2013, I officially turned it into a business and began creating content people un-related to me would find useful and interesting, and it has since taken off. It was the means whereby our family escaped poverty and paid off debts all while my husband pursued advanced degrees. It now supplements our income as I pursue my Master’s degree.

About Katelyn Fagan and Family
I am a 30-something wife, Christian (Latter-day Saint), MBA marketing student at Brigham Young University, entrepreneur, blogger, creator, homemaker, and former homeschooler of seven young kids, with sets of fraternal twins at the beginning and the end.
I like to puzzle, listen to audiobooks, be social, watch movies, be active, dance, and snuggle with my gaggle of children.
My amazing husband of 13+ years is a tenure-track university math professor! He’s also a great cook, singer, organizer, husband, father, spiritual leader, and service-giver. He’s a man of many talents and interests.
My husband and I met in Provo, UT, got married in Chicago, IL, and have since lived in Indiana, Texas, New York, and now back in Utah. I grew up in Wisconsin, and my husband grew up all over: Colorado, Kansas, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Indiana.
As a family, we enjoy life together as much as possible, and have road tripped across most of the United State of America, with our children, and have only a few states left to visit!
We are pretty simple people, who are still renting, still have massive student loan debts we’re paying off, and generally like to live minimalistic.
We are also pretty silly, don’t take ourselves very seriously, and like to have a lot of fun.
We are passionate about marriage, family, Christ, and improving ourselves.
We totally make goals.
And my goal for Home Cleaning Family is to always provide you with valuable information.
You’ll find that I approach parenting with a sense of humor and honesty. Because while I’m trying to raise awesome kids with boundaries, responsibility, work ethics, and religion, I don’t really know what I am doing. Like you, I just try my best.
Whether or not you’ll agree with me in all of my posts, I hope you’ll always appreciate my humble, down-to-earth, non-judgmental, goofy, all too practical, frugal, LDS-self, who has a hard time holding grudges, and smiles a huge toothy smile very easily.
May God bless you and your family on your journey in life.
