Read about my first experience with Purple brand products! Enjoy my review of the Purple Harmony Pillow, Purple SoftStretch Sheets, and Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion. This post is sponsored by Purple but all opinions are my own.
We’ve all seen the Purple ads for their mattresses featuring Goldilocks and the raw egg mattress test, right? I mean it has over 189 million views on Youtube.
I have been super interested in Purple products, with their patented hyper-elastic polymer purple grids, as I have several friends who love their Purple mattress and other Purple stuff!
Hate cleaning but love a clean house? Pick up this printable Spring Cleaning Bundle and you'll be able to clean it all without feeling overwhelmed!
So, I was stoked to finally partner with Purple to try out some of their products, though not a Purple mattress (yet, 😉). You can shop Best Mattresses by Purple here though. Use code WHATSUPFAGANS10 to take 10% off any orders of $200 or more. Ends May 10, 2021.
As a mom of seven kids, good sleep is always important to me. I want to fall asleep fast and comfortably. I also want a bed that doesn’t look like a hot mess all the time either, nor to spend a fortune on my bed and bedding. My hope was to see if Purple could fit the bill on some of these issues.
I was sent three different Purple items to test out and review:

Purple Harmony Pillow Review
I was sent the Purple Harmony Pillow – the world’s first and only pillow with the 360º Purple Grid™ Hex, which is soft hexagon-shaped air channels.
The pillow’s core is a soft holey hypoallergenic Talalay Latex Core, surrounded by 1,500+ open-air channels of the Purple Grid Hex, covered in a soft moisture-wicking Breeze Mesh cover.
What this all means is that the Purple Harmony Pillow is a super lightweight, super breathable, ultra-cool, yet totally supportive pillow, perfect for a great night of sleep.
I love this pillow. I slept amazingly on it from the very first night I slept on it. It’s flexible and light and feels like your head is floating on a cloud. It’s dreamy.
I am a side sleeper, or back sleeper, and it’s just perfect for me!
The only downside of this pillow (besides the initial factory manufacturing off-gassing smell) is if you like to use pillows to prop up behind your back for support as you sit up in bed and watch TV, read a book, or whatever. It’s so floppy and lightweight (and a tad small) that it really doesn’t do much there.
They do have a tall height version of The Harmony Pillow too, with all the same specs, only it is 7.5″ in height versus the standard 6.5″ and slightly heavier at 5.4lbs versus 4.5lbs of the standard pillow.
You can try the Purple® Harmony Pillow for up to 100 nights. If you don’t love it, return it for a full refund. Your Purple® Harmony Pillow is guaranteed to last and is protected by a 1-year limited warranty.
Plus, if you are a military member, healthcare or frontline worker, or an educator or student, you can get a 10% discount!
Purple SoftStretch Sheets Review
We have a king-sized bed and have been having some big issues with our sheets staying on it and laying flat. The corner often slipped off and the sheets bunched up underneath us, I think in part due to our kinda silky mattress protector we have on our bed.
Regardless as why it always happened, it was getting tiresome and annoying, and not very comfortable to sleep on.
Thus, I was probably most excited about trying out these Purple SoftStretch sheets.
My husband and I have always been high-count 100% Egyptian cotton sheet kind of people, so these sheets with 0% cotton made up of 63% rayon, 27% polyester and 10% spandex had us skeptical we’d like them (especially my husband).
The Purple SoftStretch sheets are moisture-wicking and breathable, regulating your temperature so you don’t sleep too hot or too cold. We are in the midst of winter here in New York and I really did find these sheets stayed a perfect temperature for me all night, and I can be highly sensitive to being either too hot or too cold while sleeping.
Purple really made these sheets though so that you can actually feel the comfort of your own mattress (Purple or not), and I have to say, I definitely felt that was true, even without a Purple mattress! I felt our mattress protector (which also is supposed to help you not sleep too hot) and comfy mattress underneath better.
Now, this was helped by the fact that the stretch really stretched and stayed put on our mattress! This is by far our favorite feature! No more corner popping off. No more bunched up sheets underneath our bodies!
These sheets create this perfectly flat, crease-free appearance that is just so luxurious and amazing and which we both love!
The one major downside to these sheets is that they snag on your dry feet, something my husband has big time. This means the stretch flat sheet on top often gets bunched up during the night, heading down toward his ankles as he sleeps and switches positions.
You really can get wrapped up in that stretch top sheet, though I like that my husband and I can both curl up with it without fighting over who has more.
But, if you deal with dry heels and soles on your feet, you might be irritated by the top sheet as my husband is. He still likes the fitted sheet though, just not the top sheet as much.
We haven’t washed the Purple sheets yet, so I’m not sure how they hold up after washing, or if they start piling or something, but they are supposed to have superior durability. But, in case I do notice piling, I am covered by a 1-year warranty!
You need to wash the sheets in cold water and hang to dry or tumble dry low heat.
The sheets come in six great colors:
- True White
- Stormy Grey (the color I received)
- Soft Lilac
- Natural Oat
- Morning Mist
- Deep Purple
You can get your Purple SoftStretch Sheets here and don’t forget you can always get 10% off if you are a military member, healthcare or frontline worker, or an educator or student.
Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion Review
My husband and I work from home, homeschool, and are experiencing a long snowy winter. We do quite a bit of sitting each day, especially as we have recently been on a major puzzling kick and enjoy playing board games too.
I was excited to receive the Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion to pad our hardwood chairs we sit at to puzzle, and to put it on our hard plastic black chairs we use in our homeschool room. Or to sit on it while I write blog posts or edit videos.
Afterall, who doesn’t like a little extra padding under their bums?
The Ultimate Seat Cushion by Purple is longer, wider, and deeper than any of their other Purple seat cushions, designed ideally for larger chairs, heavier people, and longer hours of sitting. It’s great for trucking, gaming, and 8+ hour sit-time.
The cushion features Purple’s patented grid to cradle your tailbone (and even your wallet or phone in your back pocket) as you sit. The hundreds of air channels keep your bum less sweaty as it’s temperature neutral.
A contoured groove at the back of the cushion even encourages proper posture and a straight spine.
The machine-washable cover is black with two-way stretch, and a grippy bottom to help keep it in place, and has a handle.
This cushion is really large. It measures 21.75″ x 18″ x 2.5″. It overlapped the sides of many of the chairs I wanted to use it on, and it added a lot of height too, making it hard to scooch the seat forward or back.
Plus, the cushion is heavy, weighing in at 7.3lbs! Thankfully, the cover has a handle to make it easier to transport around.
Honestly, it doesn’t work well for what I wanted to use it for as it’s too big, too heavy, and does in fact slide around on the seat still.
That said, it is far softer than my hard plastic homeschool chair and hardwood dining table chairs! So I will likely still use it under my bum when puzzling, but it’s a bit expensive for these incidental uses.
You can learn more about the Purple Ultimate Seat Cushion (and other cushions) on their site. Again, take that 10% off military members, healthcare and frontline workers, and educators and students.
