Interested in Le Tote maternity and their selection of Le Tote nursing tops? I’ve tried out several of the Le Tote Maternity nursing tops to show you how they work and what I like or don’t like about each one. Enjoy this Le Tote maternity review of their nursing collection! This post was sponsored by Le Tote but opinions are totally my own.
I just had my fifth baby and I still have never owned a single nursing top or nursing dress. Nursing bras, yes. But, for whatever reason, mostly a financial one, I have never bought nursing clothes for myself!
When it comes to breastfeeding my babies, I usually go for the “lift up the shirt from the bottom” thing and put a nursing cover over myself to hopefully keep myself covered, so no one sees more of me than I want them to see. I generally stick to loose fitting tees and opt for a top and skirt for church over a dress (cause non-nursing dresses are difficult to nurse in!).
Now that money isn’t so tight, and I’m so tired of wearing old T-shirts all the time, I kinda want to try out and invest in some good nursing tops! But, I really don’t know what I will like! There are several different nursing top styles out there.
And that’s why I love that Le Tote carries nursing tops!
Le Tote is a clothing rental service! They let you try on and wear unlimited amounts of clothes each month. I previously tried their maternity clothes while I was pregnant (see my first Le Tote review for more details about their style guide and how Le Tote works), and some I tried were nursing tops. Now that I am actually nursing a baby, I want to see how they work in practical use and what style(s) I like.
So, Le Tote sent me a free box of nursing tops (and some jewelry) to review!

All of the Le Tote Nursing Tops can be found in their Le Tote maternity clothes. They have a pretty good selection of different styles, patterns, and colors. It’s not super extensive, but they add new items often. And I see the big benefit is finding a few great pieces that I can hopefully add permanently to my collection.
Le Tote offers you a discount if you keep the items they send you. There is no pressure to buy anything, of course, but if you find something you really love, and love the sale price on it, you can keep it! You also can wear it as much as you want before returning it to them (and they’ll wash it for you).
You are charged per month, not per tote mailed to you. But, you have to send the whole tote back at one time, or they’ll think you want to buy whatever didn’t go back in the box.
Okay, now on to the clothes! Keep in mind that I am 5′ 9″ tall.
Le Tote Maternity Review of Nursing Tops
The Le Tote nursing tops I received in my Le Tote maternity boxes where the following:
- LILAC Geo Drape Top Size M – $37 LT price, $67 retail
- Leota Maternity Abstract Sweetheart Dress Size L – $40 LT price, $158 retail
- OLIAN Gathered Twist Neck Top Size M – $45 LT price, $80 retail
- Seraphine Mixed Stripe Nursing Top Size M – $41 LT price, $65 retail
I didn’t nurse anyone in those tops, but all of them were breastfeeding-friendly tops or dresses. They looked very nice and stylish, though I did find some to be a bit too plunging of a V-neck for my liking and modesty levels.
In my current maternity tote, I wanted to try out a few new tops with different nursing options to see how I liked the various ways they were designed so I cook look for more like them if I decide I like the twist front, or the side zipper, or whatever.
I also tried to pick nursing tops and nursing dresses that didn’t make me look pregnant… or hopefully. I’m less than 3 months postpartum and am definitely not at my pre-pregnancy weight or size! But, because I am looking for nursing tops and not maternity tops, I want something I’ll feel comfortable in and not self-conscious in!

So, I picked the following Le Tote nursing tops:
- Kim + Kai Maternity Ruffle Nursing Top Size M – $43 LT price, $68 retail
- Ripe Striped Nursing Dress Size L – $84 LT price, $103 retail
- Olian Striped Hoodie Top – $54 LT price, $89 retail
Each had a different way of accessing the breasts for breastfeeding and I thought all could look good on my postpartum body.
The ruffle top was really smart and super discreet to nurse in with a little zipper under the ruffle. But, I didn’t love how the ruffle flapped so much in the wind (and of course it was windy when taking the pictures). The peach color of it is NOT my color and it totally made me look pregnant, so I wouldn’t keep it, but it’s a cool idea for a nursing top!
The Ripe striped nursing dress still made me look a little pregnant, but it was comfortable, stretchy, and made for easy breastfeeding!
There is a top flap of the dress that goes longer than some elastic at the top of the underneath dress part. You just lift up the flap and nurse discretely! It was very easy to nurse in, which I really liked. It’s often hard to nurse at church when you want to wear a dress because you have to like take the whole thing off! Yikes! This is a vast improvement on that. However, my husband laughed at it because it was like a “flasher” dress though he liked the pattern a lot on it.
The striped hoodie top was my favorite!! It didn’t look like maternity wear, was thin and lightweight, looked flattering, super comfy, and easy to nurse discretely in too! I loved it! I would have kept it if it wasn’t $54. I’ll wait for a Le Tote sale and see if it shows up sometime. I nurse for well over a year, so I have time to be patient and wait for a better price.
Le Tote Maternity Review of Nursing Tops Box #1 Postpartum
The second box of Le Tote nursing tops included the following:
- Olian Ruffle Sleeve Dress Size L – $104 LT price, $128 retail
- Olian Abstract Wrap Top Size M – $54 LT price, $88 retail
- Lilac Abstract Drape Top Size M – $37 LT price, $57 retail
The Le Tote nursing dress is mid-calf which surprised me because it looks like it hits just below the knee in the preview picture. Either way, it’s a very attractive dress. The nursing flap on this is more “modest” underneath in that it has an oval opening rather than just an elastic and lift up option like the Rip dress in my first box. (I’m wearing this nursing tank underneath).
I dressed it up with the Ava Starburst earrings and necklace Le Tote sent me and some red lipstick and dark eyeshadow, per my daughter’s request (the red lips are so NOT me).
The Abstract black and white wrap top is very similar to the blue one I tried while pregnant. And I think the pattern is super flattering on me, but it still looks a little maternity-ish with it’s bulky flowey-ness, which I didn’t love as much, but I thought it looked pretty great with my new brownish red and shorter hairdo though!
The Lilac top is also like a top I tried while pregnant, and it’s very tight and form fitting, which I’m not sure makes it look less like a maternity top or more considering I still have quite a bit of a baby bump (I’m less than 3 months postpartum here!). I think it’s pretty and easy to nurse in though.
Both of these Le Tote nursing tops are a slide over from the center tops. I wore a nursing tank underneath them though as the V was too low for my liking.
If I get more nursing tops from Le Tote, I will add them to this post.
Le Tote Maternity Costs
I bet you’re wondering now how much it costs, right? The membership details are below:
Unlimited Maternity Box Subscription Options {Updated}:
- $69 – 3 Garments, 2 Accessories
- $79 – 5 Garments
- $89 – 5 Garments, 3 Accessories
- $99 – 8 Garments
- $109 – 7 Garments, 3 Accessories
- $119 – 10 Garments
- $129 – 10 Garments, 5 Accessories
I did their previous 3 garments and two accessories box for $69/month. I like their jewelry and paying for it makes me actually wear nice jewelry. Plus, I’ve kept several of the jewelry pieces. But, I can see the appeal of only doing garments. You get more to wear at one time.
The good news is that Le Tote has sales often! I will try to keep this post updated with the latest Le Tote Promo codes so you can save on your first and/or second months!
