I have three sisters, and when I was growing up, we were constantly borrowing clothes from each other.
My older sister tends to stick to solid color T-shirts and I am more a fan of prints, but every now and then an occasion demanded that I wear her cute dress or she borrows my shirt for a job interview.
Now that we’re all adults and live in separate states, it’s not practical or easy to borrow clothes from each other. Though I did borrow my sister’s Sleeping Beauty Halloween costume last year, and that was totally worth the postage!
Real Talk About Maternity Clothes
So let’s talk about maternity clothes for a minute.
I don’t know about y’all, but I have three kids, and with each new pregnancy, I’ve gotten a little more sick of my maternity clothes. I have cheap maternity clothes. Most of my maternity clothing is from Savers, garage sales, or the clearance rack.
It’s really hard to justify spending a lot of money on clothes that I know will only fit me for nine months.

Currently, I have a lot of friends who are currently pregnant, or just had a baby or planning on getting pregnant again. Wouldn’t it be great if you had a friend the exact same size as you that you could borrow maternity clothes from for 9 months like I borrowed my sisters’ clothes?
That’s what a lot of other people thought, too!
Maternity Clothing Subscription Boxes
There are all these great companies out there right now who make renting maternity clothes super easy. Whether you need an evening gown, T-shirts, essentials, or a new pair of maternity pants, you can find what you’re looking for from several awesome maternity subscription box companies!
I found the following online shops where you can rent maternity clothes throughout your pregnancy (and in most cases, you have the option to buy something if you love it) via a subscription.
Places to Rent Maternity Clothes:
And in case you aren’t crazy about renting maternity clothes, there are (at least) two online retailers that send you maternity clothes through a maternity subscription box service:

I went ahead and researched all the details about what makes each one unique and their price points and what to expect for each one! You’re welcome.

Not a lot of us moms have fancy dresses just hanging out in our closets. And if we did, they probably wouldn’t fit over a pregnant belly.

But did you know Rent the Runway also does dress rentals for pregnant women? When you’re asked about your body type, you can just check under the filter “Body Type” and select “Bump-Friendly.”

Mine for Nine
Mine for Nine is a great way to shop for maternity clothes, except you’re renting them instead of buying. You save money borrowing clothes that would normally cost you a fortune to purchase brand new.
How often boxes come: You choose which maternity clothes you want, and then you can borrow them for one, two or three months. There are no late fees – after the first month, you will be charged for an additional month if the item isn’t sent back within seven (7) days of its due date. Then pick out what you want to borrow next!
Costs of the rental service: How much you spend is totally up to you. You pick out which items you want and how many of each. There are no membership fees, and you don’t have to sign up to check out maternity outfits. Plus you’ll get free shipping and delivery if you spend $75 or more.
What you can expect to receive in a box: Rental maternity dresses, tops, bottoms, suits, and coats.
What I like about Mine for Nine: Their clothes are really cute, and appeal to a lot of different body types, styles, and price ranges. You can customize which items you want to look at based on clothing size, color, price, and if it’s available for purchase or not. Plus you don’t have to worry about re-selling the clothes after you’re done wearing them.

What you can expect to receive in a box: 15 items of gently used maternity clothing that you’ve picked out.
What I like about Motherhood Closet: If you sign up to get clothes from them for all 9 months, you’re only paying $50 a month for the service, which is a pretty good deal. You can also shop their clearance, and get great deals like these Blue H & M Mama Maternity Boot Cut Maternity Jeans (Gently Used – Size 10) for only $8.99!

La Belle Bump
With La Belle Bump, you can borrow cute, quality maternity and nursing clothes for 80% off retail prices. The clothes are selected by a stylist after you fill out a questionnaire.
How often boxes come: You get new items when you decide to send something back. You can send items back one at a time, all at once, however, you choose.

Shipping is FREE! You use a prepaid envelope to send the maternity clothes back.
What you can expect to receive in a box: 3-5 clothing items, depending on the box you choose.
What I like about La Belle Bump: You can’t pick out which clothes you want in your box, so it’s up to the stylist to figure out what you like or what would look good on you based on your style preferences. Normally I wouldn’t like handing over the control to a stylist, but all the reviews I read RAVED about La Belle Bump’s customer service and attention to detail where that is concerned.
Additional Info About La Belle Bump:
If you’re looking for a maternity dress for a special occasion, they have a gorgeous, (though limited) selection of evening maternity gowns and cocktail dresses. You can rent your dress for 7 days. Price is dependent on the dress you choose. I would love to find an occasion to wear this gorgeous evening gown. Can someone invite me to their fancy party, please?
You don’t have to wash the clothes before you return them — they get professionally cleaned before each rental. Clothes are available in maternity sizes 0-14.

What you can expect to receive in a box: Maternity clothing items and jewelry
What makes them unique: Even though a stylist picks out your clothes, you get to preview the items 48 hours in advance before your box is sent to you. Then, if you don’t like what your stylist picked out, you can swap out the clothes for items from their website that you do like. That way there are no huge surprises and you only get clothes sent to you that you approve of. You don’t have to mess with the hassle of sending them back the minute you get them because you would never wear that pattern, cut, style, etc.
What I like about Le Tote Maternity: You pay for the membership, not per item. If you want to, you can order up to 4 totes within a month so that you have something new to wear each weekend. You also don’t have to worry about washing/cleaning the clothes either! At Le Tote they do that for you after you send the clothes back.
Additional Info About Le Tote Maternity: So what happens if you fall in love with a cute shirt or dress? You do have the option to buy it at 20 to 50 percent off retail in most cases. What if you fall in love with all the clothes in the tote and want to keep everything? Then you get your next month of Le Tote FREE!
Oh, also, if you live in a super warm state like Texas, you can tell Le Tote a little bit about what the weather is like where you live, and they keep that in mind when your clothes are picked out.

Stitch Fix Maternity
You’ve probably heard of Stitch Fix because it’s pretty popular! But Stitch Fix offers maternity clothes now, which is a huge bonus for pregnant and nursing women (check out Katelyn’s Stitch Fix nursing review).
After you fill out a style quiz and sizing chart in your profile, a Stitch Fix stylist picks out your five clothing items for you to wear, including tops, bottoms, jewelry, and shoes.
How often boxes come: You choose the delivery date of the box, and then send back what you don’t want after 3 days. You decide when you want more clothes!
Costs of the subscription boxes: $20 styling fee per delivery, then pay only for what you keep. Pieces are around $55 each on average.
If you decide to buy all five pieces sent in your box, then you get a 25% discount off of your entire purchase. Shipping is FREE both ways. Your styling fee goes toward your purchase as a credit.
What you can expect to receive in a box: 5 pieces of new maternity clothing, jewelry, and/or shoes.
What I like about Stitch Fix Maternity: I think it’s really cool that you can put in your due date so that Stitch Fix Maternity can send you clothes from your first few weeks of pregnancy all the way through when your baby is born. I like that they offer nursing-friendly tops, too, so you can keep using them for a few months after your baby is born.
Additional Info About Stitch Fix Maternity: You only have to pay for what you keep. When you fill out your style quiz, you can also put what your price requirements are, though their items do tend to be on the pricier end of the spectrum.
Katelyn tried out their maternity clothes just a few months ago when she was still pregnant. You can see her Stitch Fix Maternity review for more details on what she thought about their offerings.
