If you are looking for monthly subscription boxes for toddlers, you’ll love this list of 10 subscription boxes for toddlers. There is a toddler book subscription, a monthly craft box for toddlers, toddler toy boxes, and even a sensory box for toddlers! Have fun finding the right one for your toddler!
UrbanDictionary.com defines a “toddler” as a:
“Tiny bipolar humans under the age of 3, who can swing rapidly between endearingly cute antics and screaming, kicking, biting fits of rage. Completely unpredictable and often unintelligible lovable little walking blessings/nightmares disguised as tiny human beings with giant heads. Prone to selective hearing and repeating overheard curse words at inopportune moments. More dangerous when traveling in packs.”
If you’re a parent, you know that definition is pretty close to the actual truth!
Being the mom of a toddler can be blissful and easy at times, and stressful and frustrating at other times.
When my first daughter was about 17 months old, she hit the “terrible twos” stage early that every mom warns you about. She had such a hard time controlling her emotions and would get so upset when she didn’t get what she wanted. She would throw uncontrollable fits where I would just sit her down in her room and close the door and let her fight and kick and scream until she was exhausted and had calmed down.
As she threw her fit, I would get just as upset with myself because I felt like I was the one doing something wrong.
Now that I have 3 kids, I don’t suddenly feel like a “toddler expert” or a “Wonder Woman Mom”. But I’ve learned from experience that toddlers can be rough to deal with and it’s not my fault!
I have found that doing activities together is a great way to bond with your toddler and appreciate their (mostly!) sweet nature. Whether you like to snuggle up on the couch and read books together, get down on the floor to play legos, or make a special craft together, there all kinds of great options out there.
Monthly Subscription Boxes for Toddlers
Toddler monthly subscription boxes are a great way to keep kiddos entertained and engaged. I have researched and compiled a list of some awesome subscription boxes for toddlers that I want to share with you.
Koala Crate from KiwiCo
Designed for kids ages 3-4, Koala Crate from KiwiCo is a great way to do some toddler crafts! The projects are educational as well as fun, and it’s easy to do together. Kids enjoy it when you spend time with them, and you get the benefit of helping their creative juices flow.
Each monthly craft box for toddlers comes with projects that are appropriate for your child’s specific age. You’ll get everything you need to complete a project, such as writing utensils, card stock, etc. You’ll also get ideas from the company on how to continue using some of the items included as your kid grows up. There’s a “parent guide”, there is also a copy of “Imagine” magazine, and a list of online resources with links to other projects your child might enjoy.
For example, in their reptiles crate, you will make your own soft and cuddly snake and give it a one-of-a-kind pattern, use a color-changing chameleon to go “bug” hunting, see how your chameleon changes colors when it gets warm, and create a turtle box to hide your special treasures and see how your turtle hides inside his shell.
Costs of the Koala Crate Subscription Boxes for Toddlers:
- Monthly: $19.95/month
- 3 months: $19.95/month
- 6 months: $18.50/month
- 12 months: $16.95/month
This craft subscription box for toddlers comes every month, and your subscription automatically renews, but you can cancel at any time. The longer year subscription ends up saving almost $100 instead of doing month-to-month. Plus, there is free shipping within the U.S. and you can Use code SHARE30 to get 30% off your first month’s box!
If you really enjoy crafting/doing projects with your kids, you’re going to be investing about $20 a month anyway to get the appropriate tools and supplies. This way you don’t have to pack all the kids in the car and drive to the store to do a fun project together. It’s also super convenient! I’m not a big crafter, so I like that I don’t have to come up with my own projects by scanning the Internet or typing out a whole bunch of instructions.

The Preschool Box
The Preschool box is a monthly subscription that teaches your preschooler ages 3-6 basic reading and math skills to help prepare them for elementary school. They focus on ways to teach your child beginning phonics skills such as learning to identify, write, and sound out the letters of the alphabet and work up to sounding out and writing words.
Every box has a set of focus skills with hands-on activities, crafts, and worksheets, parent instruction guide, book and stickers, flash cards and other games.
The activities in the Preschool Box can stretch over a four week period. The activities are work-at-your-own-pace and are designed for you to be able to use and work on as your child masters them. You can be super involved in the learning process, or let your kid figure it out themselves.
I like that this educational monthly subscription box for toddlers focuses on letter and sound recognition, counting numbers, sorting shapes and colors, focuses on phonics, teaching kids the sounds of letters, practice writing. My 3-year-old daughter wants to learn everything her big sister learns in school, so this is a great way to introduce those subjects to her.
The cost for private preschool here in Texas is pretty expensive, and I’ve heard it’s not much better other places. This is a way to teach your child the concepts they would likely learn in preschool at home.
Costs of the boxes:
For 1 child:
- Month-to-month: $29.95
- Pay for 3 months upfront: $84.95 or $28.32/mo.
- Pay for 6 months upfront: $159.95 or $26.66/mo.
- Pay for 12 months upfront: $299.95 or $25/mo.
For 2 kids:
- Month-to-month: $44.95
- Pay for 3 months upfront: $129.95 or $43.32/mo.
- Pay for 6 months upfront: $249.95 or $41.66/mo.
- Pay for 12 months upfront: $479.95 or $40/mo.
Prices do not include taxes, shipping, or handling. You can cancel if you don’t want to renew. A portion of all their sales goes towards buying school supplies and other necessities for children at the Rafiki Orphanage in Uganda, Africa.

It’s a great way to engage your child in fun, silly sensory play, and can be calming and therapeutic for children with special needs.
Each box contains 5-7 sensory toys and items like putty, aromatherapy dough, hand fidgets, tactile/ textured toys, etc.
A lot of parents who have children with special needs don’t know what to do to help their child. There are not a lot of other options out there other than expensive therapy that focuses on this same specific field.

Bookroo
Bookroo is a book subscription box for kids ages 0-3 (for board books), 3-6 years (for picture books), and 7-10 years (for chapter books).
For kids ages 0-3, they will receive 3 new board books in every toddler subscription box. If you have a kid between the ages of 2-6, you can choose “Picture Books”‘ instead and get 2 hardcover books per box. You can see an example of the picture books in Katelyn’s post about teaching her homeschooled twins how to read.
The cool thing about their service is that the books are reviewed by families and their kids who have at least one spouse attending Stanford University. Books are sent out to the families and then rated on how “readable” or engaging they are. Bookroo tries to send books to you that are not easily found online or in stores. They also come individually wrapped in beautiful paper packaging for a fun touch!
I like that they try to showcase different authors and books that may not be as popular. It’s fun to discover a book with your kids that are different than the ones you read a million times when you were growing up.
My parents took me to the library a lot, and after seeing the same books over and over again, it’s nice to have some variety! If you are a new parent and don’t have a lot of board books or picture books on your shelves, this is a great way to start building your at-home library.
Also, if you have kids in both the board book and picture book age groups, you can choose an alternating subscription when you arrive at the “Choose Book Type” step. Then you’ll get board and picture books every other month.
You choose if you want to receive new books every month or every other month. Your subscription will automatically renew unless you decide to cancel. You can cancel whenever you want. Shipping is $5 flat. You can pay monthly or prepay for a few months and get a slightly discounted rate.
Here are your Bookroo Subscription options for every month:
- Monthly: $19.95/month + $5 shipping = $24.95 per month
- 3 months: $18.95/month + $5 shipping = $23.95 per month or $71.85 upfront
- 6 months: $17.95/month + $5 shipping = $22.95 per month or $137.70 upfront
- 12 months: $16.95/month + $5 shipping = $21.95 per month or $263.40 upfront
If you choose the every other month subscription:
- Monthly: $20.95/month + $5 shipping = $25.95 per month
- 3 months: $19.95/month + $5 shipping = $24.95 per month or $74.85 upfront
- 6 months: $18.95/month + $5 shipping = $23.95 per month or $143.70 upfront
- You do pay less if you buy a longer subscription! And they totally allow for you to gift these to other people!

Little Passports: Early Explorers
I’m terrible at geography, so I’m hoping my kids aren’t like me! This monthly craft box for toddlers called Little Passports: Early Explorers gives you a great way to introduce geography to children.
Designed for kids ages 3-5, each package has a unique theme (like Art, Music or Food) and teaches your child about the world.

Each subsequent box contains a 20-page activity booklet, fun souvenirs, trading cards, letters and photos, stickers and luggage tags, fun activities, educational toys, and learning games.
If you’ve lived in the same place for a long time, your child may not have a chance to be exposed to what life is like in other parts of the world. This toddler subscription box is a great way to inform your kid about themes like landmarks, music, animals, oceans, natural wonders, space, world discoveries, dinosaurs, science, celebrations, habitats, transportation, insects, and sports.

Monthly subscription boxes for toddlers make great gifts, too! I hope you find the box that’s right for you and your child!
