Heading to the pool and need some modest maternity swimwear? I’ve compiled the best modest maternity swimsuit options from around the web just for you!
You know what’s great about being able to buy clothes online? No matter where you live or what the weather’s like, you can find clothes for any season.
For instance, in Texas, we all want to wear winter boots in October because we’re so ready for the sizzling summer heat to be over. So us stay-at-home moms jump on our computers and start the online search ASAP, even though it probably won’t be cold enough to really wear the boots until January.
Here’s why I think this is awesome.
I’m planning a girls’ trip with my sisters and mom for this upcoming summer in the middle of July. We’re going to Denver, and it’s going to be plenty hot enough that we’ll want to take advantage of our AirBnB’s pool or go to a water park and we can all sport our best modest swimsuits.
Since my husband and I are planning on trying for baby #4 soon, this means I may or may not be pregnant in the summer when this trip happens.
However, I tossed the last maternity swimsuit I had from Target because after wearing it for 3 pregnancies, it was basically down to threads.
The cool thing about living in 2019 is that you can find modest maternity swimsuits no matter the time of year! So I can browse a whole bunch of online retailers and find something that I like even though my trip is months away.
Why modest, you say?
Well, I’m not one for showing my round bare belly at the pool.
If you can rock the bikini and baby bump thing, that’s amazing! But I like to stick to modest swimsuits that cover my cleavage and my butt as much as possible.
Here’s where you can find some awesome modest maternity swimsuits no matter what month you need them for!
Best Modest Maternity Swimsuits of 2019
Modest Maternity Swimsuits from Nordstrom
Ok, how cute is the “Kimi and Kai” swimsuit featured in the middle? It’s a great, classic looking modest maternity swimsuit and affordable at just $68.
I love that it’s got that vintage look, while still being cute enough to look great on any body type.
If you’re not into stripes, they offer a really similar swimsuit in black.
If you burn

Modest Maternity Swimwear from Motherhood Maternity
Motherhood’s maternity swimwear consists of just 37 options, which is very surprising to me, seeing as they are supposed to have a great selection of everything maternity-related, right? And not all are “super” modest with peep-holes at the chest or low in the back.
But if you don’t want to spend more than $50 on a modest maternity swimsuit, you’ve come to the right place. The most expensive modest maternity swimsuit is only $44.98!
What I like best about these suits is that they are very youthful looking. They don’t look like grandma swimsuits! Yeah!
Some maternity swimsuits have high necklines, or they have a full long-sleeve maternity swimsuit, and other modest maternity one-piece and two-piece swimsuits.
The good news is that they often run sales too to make them even cheaper!
Modest Maternity Swimsuits from Amazon
I noticed that Amazon sells a lot of knock-offs for the modest maternity suits sold at Nordstrom.com, in case you wanted a cheaper version of a suit from there.
While Amazon has a pretty large collection of suits, it’s not that extensive, and not all are that modest.
The most prominent modest maternity swimsuit options are from two different brands – Oceanlily and Mermaid Maternity.
Oceanlily offers this tankini maternity halter top in that unique red print, but also several other fun prints. They also have their other styles in a few other prints as well as some great modest maternity swim bottoms.
See all of Oceanlily maternity swimsuits here.
Speaking of bottoms, Amazon has skorts, skirts, board shorts, briefs, and bikini bottoms that all stretch to go over your cute pregnant belly. They mostly come in black and gray, so they’re bound to look good with any top you choose!
I like the maternity board shorts, because I have an unsightly varicose vein that is hard to hide with swimsuit briefs (I also wrote a post all about varicose veins in pregnancy in case you want to learn more!). I could wear these board shorts with confidence and not have to worry about it!
Modest Maternity Swimwear from Mermaid Maternity
I really like Mermaid Maternity’s modest maternity swimsuits! They are sold both at Nordstrom.com and on Amazon.com.
You can choose from long sleeve or short sleeve rash guard tops that will look great with any of the bottoms I mentioned above.
Sometimes after swimming it’s nice to be able to stay in your suit to run errands around town and not feel like you’re showing off too much skin at the grocery store, so this rash guard maternity swim top is perfect because it looks just like a shirt!
You can also pick up a long-sleeve maternity rash guard top that comes in black.
They also have other more traditional yet modest maternity swimwear like this bandeau tankini top!
Best Maternity Swimwear from Target
Since Target is the place I bought my last swimsuit, I had to look at their current options to see if I think they have some good modest maternity swimwear.
They have a few maternity swimsuits with a “lace” look. I haven’t seen this very often. I can’t decide how I feel about it. It’s a unique look, and really pretty, but not my style as much as the others, but I also think it could be pretty low-cut for some mamas out there too.
The most modest swimsuit options were a round-neck one-piece maternity swimsuit or tankini, or a high-neck maternity swimsuit. Thankfully both come in a variety of patterns and sizes!
I know from experience that Target’s swimsuits do last longer than just one pregnancy, so they definitely have that in their favor!

Modest Maternity Swimwear from SwimOutlet.com
What better place to search for modest maternity swimwear than SwimOutlet.com? They have 79 suits to choose from! More selection means more variety.
SwimOutlet.com’s got suits that look like Speedos, girly suits, rashguard suits, and even a few bikini options (if you wanted to go that route).
Most of the SwimOutlet.com’s swimsuits are $50-88, so not too bad for a swimsuit!
Whether you’re looking for modest maternity swimsuits for right now, this upcoming summer season or later in the year, I hope this list helps you find what you’re looking for!
