Stitch Fix – the world’s leading online personalized styling service – is now offering Stitch Fix Kids! I ordered a Stitch Fix Kids for girls box for my 8-year-old twin daughters. Here’s our Stitch Fix Kids review on it.
He was pretty excited to try out a clothing subscription box for kids from Stitch Fix Kids!
I’ve personally tried Stitch Fix many times, including their Stitch Fix Maternity and Stitch Fix Nursing clothes, and understand the Stitch Fix Pros and Cons, Stitch Fix Costs, and Stitch Fix Prices for their women’s clothes (they also offer Stitch Fix Men and Stitch Fix Plus), so I was curious to see how their kids lines would compare to my experiences with them in the past and for different needs and price points.

Stitch Fix Kids Review for Girls – #1
The note from my daughter’s Stitch Fix Kids stylist was written just for him and said:
Hi Lisa! It’s finally summer, Lisa! I hope you are having a ton of fun in the Texas sun. since it’snice and warm outside, I made sure to include a couple shorts to try along with a lighweight pair of skinny jeans. The dresses you’ll find in your box will also keep you cool for weekend outings with the family. Your mom let us know that you like star prints, so I chose the Nine One Eight tee to try on with jeans! Have fun, Lisa. – Blake Lindsey
P.S. Ask mom to let us know which styles were your favorites!
In Lisa’s Stitch Fix Kids box she received 10 different items with price points ranging from $10-$30 for a subtotal of $194, with a 25% buy all discount that would make it $145.50 (or $14.55 per item).
Here’s what Lisa got:
- Nine One Eight – Jordy Sequin Tee, size M – $10
- DL1961 – Bailee Roll Cuff Short, size 12 – $30
- Love Glam Girl – Eva Graphic Swing Twee, size M – $14
- Sophia & Zeke – Kali Lace Trim Tulip Shorts, size L – $20
- Sophia & Zeke – Colette Faux Wrap Romper – size L – $24
- Moon & Stars – Gracie T-Shirt Dress, size L – $16
- (*MIA Kids – Jil Bow Detail Sandal, size 4Y – $18 – These are from Alison’s box)
- Rumi + Ryder – The Graphic Tunic, size L – $14
- Celebrity Pink – Haley Skinny Jean, size 12, $20
- MIA Kids – Lizbeth Platform Sandal – size 5Y – $24
- Hanna Andersson – Hattie Graphic Tee, size 12 – $22
Overall, we only kept three tops. I loved her last outfit with the jeans and thought she looked great in them, but she said she didn’t like that they were light colored jeans and that they were skinny jeans. The shoes were too big and clunky, the T-Shirt dress was a little too clingy, the swing tee too wide at the bottom, and shorts both too short, especially the tulip shorts, and she liked the romper but didn’t love it and wasn’t sure if she’d actually wear it. She’s never owned or worn a romper before. I thought it looked fine but wasn’t all that crazy about it either.
I was surprised by how cheap everything was though. I’ve been buying so many clothes for her over the last year as she continues to grow like a weed, so I’m glad nothing was very expensive, and everything fit pretty well too.
I am curious what a second Stitch Fix Kids box for her would look like, as I feel like they didn’t really get her style all that well with this box, despite my best efforts. My big kids are certainly the harder ones to please!
Stitch Fix Kids Review for Girl #2
Lisa’s twin sister Alison (who is therefore also 8) also received a Stitch Fix Kids box for girls to try out and review. Alison is like 3 inches shorter and 20lbs lighter than her sister and has a different style tendency, so I was curious how they would suggest styling my two very different twins.
Alison’s note from her stylist said:
Hi Alison! I hope that you are enjoying your summer so far! I had so much fun putting together some easy summer looks that will have you looking and feeling great. My favorite picks for you were these cute coral shorts! You can pair them with the cute LOVE top of the white graphic tee. Add your new sandals for the perfect summer style. Have fun! – Katie
P.S. Please let your mom let me know what you think about all these pieces!
In Alison’s Stitch Fix Kids box she received 10 different items with price points ranging from $12-$44 for a subtotal of $216, with a 25% buy all discount that would make it $162 (or $16.20 per item).
In Alison’s Stitch Fix Kids box she received:
- Paisley Sky Girls – Carrie Ribbed Patch T-Shirt, Size M – $22
- Paperflower – Hazel Graphic Tee, Size 10 – $14
- Paperflower – Mila Flutter Sleeve Tee, size 10 – $16
- Habitual – Isla Roll Cuff Tee, Size 10 – $18
- Nine One Eight – Lilly Twist Front Tee, Size M – $12
- Sophia & Zeke – Kali Lace Trim Tulip Shorts, Size S – $20
- Be Only You – Kaylee Lace Up Shirt Dress, Size L – $22
- Hanna Andersson – Selens Graphic Sleep Set, Size 10 – $44
- MIA Kids – Jil Bow Detail Sandal, size 4Y – $18
- DL1961 – Emily Frayed Hem Short, Size 8 – $30
Alison’s box was also some big hits and some big misses. The tops all seemed MASSIVE on her super skinny frame (and I told the stylists that she needed lean clothes.), though we ended up keeping a few.
Her sandals we kept because they are super cute, and her twin sister might be claiming them some of the time too right now.
The biggest hit was the pajamas, which fit her perfectly and are super cute. She loves them! Of course, the price tag ($44!!) was $9 higher than they said their Stitch Fix Kids items cost, and is the most expensive item we’ve received in ANY of our Stitch Fix Kids boxes which seems CRAZY for a pair of pajamas!
But, because I had some Stitch fix credits (thanks Stitch Fix!), and we loved them so much, I splurged on my daughter and kept them for her. Thankfully there is room to grow in them still, so they better last a while!
Alison did not like either shorts as they were both “booty shorts” and we don’t do booty shorts in our house (which, by the way, I told them in my styling guide….).
I would also be curious to see what a second box might look like now that they have so much feedback from me and my daughters about each piece and what exactly their style and preferences are.
Be sure to try Stitch Fix Kids with your kids (perfect for back to school time!). Try Stitch Fix Kids today!
