I’ve personally tried Stitch Fix several times, including Stitch Fix Maternity, and understand the Stitch Fix Pros and Cons, Stitch Fix Costs, and Stitch Fix Prices for their women’s clothes (they also offer Stitch Fix Men, Stitch Fix Plus, and Stitch Fix Kids). But, now that I’m postpartum again, and a nursing mom again, I was curious what Stitch Fix nursing tops they had to offer.
I have never really bought or owned even affordable nursing clothes before (yes, even though I’m on baby number five).
But, now that I have a little more spending money for clothes, and want something a little nicer than baggy T-shirts to wear while nursing.
I previously tried Le Tote Maternity for nursing tops and nursing dresses but wasn’t super satisfied that I had to shop strictly from the maternity selection, as I don’t want to look pregnant!
I figured I’d do some Stitch Fix nursing reviews! I wanted to see what Stitch Fix nursing friendly clothes they had that weren’t “maternity”, and see what would come in my regular fix.
What is Stitch Fix?
But, let’s make sure you know what I’m talking about first!
If you are not familiar with Stitch Fix, it’s one of the most popular styling services for women, pregnant women, plus-size women, men and kids out there!
You fill out a style quiz and sizing chart in your profile, select a date you’d like to receive a shipment, and then wait for a Stitch Fix stylist to select and ship five pieces for you to wear. The items include tops, bottoms, jewelry, and shoes.
You are charged a $20 styling fee when you order a box, but it is applied toward any purchase made, and if you keep all five items, you get 25% off the entire box! Shipping and returns are all free.
My style questionnaire was still filled out in my profile from my previous fixes, but I adjusted some of the sizes to fit my postpartum body, and in my note requested Stitch Fix nursing tops and dresses.
Shortly thereafter, I received my first box!

I actually loved everything in this box except for the necklace which I really hated, but I kept it because the 25% off discount was greater than the cost of the necklace by a considerable amount. I haven’t had much chance to wear the pants yet as it’s been blazingly hot this summer in Texas, but I adore both dresses and they are so easy to nurse in! I did buy this great UnderCover Mama half-shirts and strapless nursing tanks to wear under them for a little more modesty in the bust area and they work great!
The chambray top really is great! I really like wearing it and it is super soft and cooler than you’d think, so still often too hot to wear in Texas this summer. I like it a lot! It is easy to unbotton and nurse in this one too.
Box #2 Stitch Fix for Nursing Moms
Stitch Fix Stylist’s Note:
Hey there, beautiful. I am so happy that you felt like your last Fix was a great math. “it’s hot in Texas!” You can most definitely say that AGAIN! I live outside of the Austin area and oh boy, it’s hard forme to releax loutside unless I’m submerged in a pool. Of course, that isn’t difficult with my kids around (wink!). I did my very best to include styles that are nursing friendly and looser in the midsection for the best postpartum fit. The only style that isn’t machine washable is the Renee C skirt. However, I’ve had luck with washing hand wash pieces on cold and then I hang to dry. The Fortune + Ivy and ID:23 have buttons for effortless access to nursing. The LUQ and coral Emory Park knit tee is fabricated with stretch so they can be pulled up or down with ease. Happy styling, Kately. XO, Blake Lindsey.
Stitch Fix Breastfeeding Tops:
- ID:23 – Hayford Button Down Top, Size L – $38
- LUQ – Julliet Crochet Knit Top, Size L – $34
- Emory Park – Dulce Cross-Front Knit Top, Size L – $28
- Renee C – Gisela Side Slit Maxi Skirt, Size L – $38
- Byer California – Christelle Button-Down Blouse, Size L – $38
The total all together was $176, only $132 if I kept all 5 pieces.
I LOVE the black and white button-down top! I think it is super flattering and pretty! The only downside was that it is super see-through. I had to order white undershirts (here are the first and second ones I bought from Amazon) to wear underneath this top, which makes it less easy to nurse in and way less cool to wear! But, I loved the top that much that I put up with having to buy undershirts and have actually worn it a few times, even in the heat!
The skirt is a super nice full-length skirt with a slit on only one side. I really like it and see myself wearing it more in the fall/winter as well or for dressier occasions. Can’t go wrong with a full-length black skirt! I don’t love the waistband on it, but otherwise, it’s pretty great.
$76 for those two items isn’t too bad, especially because I had some Stitch Fix credit.
Everything else was a total miss.
The button down was too wide, too short, a weird cut, and just wasn’t attractive.
The crochet knit top was super wide at the bottom and also very short if you lifted your arms at all. And while it would be easy to stretch up or down to nurse in thanks to the elastic round neckline, it was far too hippy-ish for me.
The Emory Park coral tee was nice, but the V-neck was too low for my modesty taste, and coral isn’t really my color. I’m also not sure exactly how nursing-friendly it would be either. For those reasons, and the cost, it didn’t make the keep pile, though it wasn’t a bad tee. Certainly in my style.
I will likely continue to try out Stitch Fix for some more great Stitch Fix breastfeeding clothes. The winners they sent me are now some of my favorite pieces in my closet! And they really are pretty easy to nurse in. Win-Win!
If you want to try out Stitch Fix and see what nursing-friendly clothes they might send you, be sure to schedule a fix today!

I just received my first fix Stitch box this past week! I think I’m really going to enjoy using this company! I’m 24 weeks pregnant and although I didn’t receive “maternity” clothing, most of the pieces have enough stretch to wear now and as I get bigger. There’s also a wrap style dress that will work amazingly for nursing postpartum! I have 3 children already so the ease of having fashionable clothing without the effort and expense of hauling them to stores as I attempt to make outfits work makes this service worth the price!
