Discover more than 20 fantastic chemistry kits! From edible candy chemistry kits to monthly chemistry kits like MEL science, this is the ultimate list of the best chemistry kits for kids.
These are great for younger kids who love to do different experiments. If you’re looking for the best science kits and chemistry experiments, you don’t want to miss out on these learning resources. Perfect for STEM education, and they’re the best way to have fun experiments easily at home.
STEM learning is a good idea for younger children as it teaches them the basics of chemistry in a fun way. They’re perfect for hands-on experience and a great option for younger students. They’ll have such a great appreciation of science after these simple experiments. Perfect for a budding chemist!

I always did well in school as a kid with straight A’s frequently found on my report cards.
But, that didn’t mean I loved every subject.
For whatever reason, science was a subject I just never took much of a personal interest in. Here and there I found things fun and fascinating, but I never, ever desired to pursue a science-related field.
As we homeschool now, and I am responsible for exposing my children to the world they live in, teaching science is one of the subjects they need to learn…. from me.
But, HOW can I make it more exciting and accessible to them? How can I teach them things I don’t actually understand myself or find super exciting so that maybe they’ll want to go into a STEM-field someday?
The answer? Great science curriculums, obviously. ??
And to supplement those curriculums, we watch numerous science videos on Youtube and from the library, and we use various boxed science kits whenever possible.
I have previously written posts about the best monthly science kits for kids, and even the best science board games for kids. I thought I’d explore my options (and share my findings) with you about chemistry science kits for kids.
These chemistry kits range from full-on chemistry lab kits to edible chemistry kits. Some are monthly subscription boxes still, but they offer chemistry-specific subscriptions or boxes.
I did not retain all that much from my high school chemistry class, so I’m hoping that my kids will better understand chemistry and science more than me!
Enjoy the list and let me know if you know of other great chemistry kits and sets and boxes out there for kids. Be sure to see my list of monthly STEM boxes for kids too.

Scientific Explorer Ice Cream Science Kit
The Scientific Explorer Ice Cream Science Kit is for kids ages 8+ (though I feel like it could be used for much younger ages).
This is basically a simple kit for making your own homemade ice cream, something I did with my 3-year-old preschoolers without a kit (just saying).
The advantage of the kit is they provide several different fun flavors and it’s less than $27 shipped.
However, if you want yummy science-focused ice cream making fun, I would look into the Playz Brain Freeze Science kit.
It includes 18 experiments so your child can make not just ice cream, but also make instant ice that melts, invert sugar crystals, brew tasty sorbets, whip up some slushies, and more.
The Playz Brain Freeze science kit is around $40.
I hope you enjoy all your science learning!!
