If you love the idea of Stitch Fix but want to know what the Cheap Stitch Fix Alternatives look like, and who the Stitch Fix competitors are, you’re in luck. Read on.
Learning your style preferences is key but staying in your price range is important as well! Find out the best options and maybe even discover some new brands along the way. There are similar services out there that can fit your body type and be great for everyday wear. Have the fashion experts send clothes right to your home with a clothing subscription service.
Maybe it’s how much it costs. Maybe it’s the type of clothes they carry. Maybe it’s just because you’d like to know what else is out there.
I don’t know.
And I don’t judge you for your reasons for looking into alternatives to Stitch Fix – the popular online personal styling service that sends clothes to your door without you having to leave home and try on 10,000 pairs of pants in the pursuit of the one pair that will fit you and your style perfectly.
I’ve tried out Stitch Fix three times now. In my first honest review of Stitch fix, I put into question the Stitch Fix cost if you are a frugal person, like me.
I weighed the pros and cons of Stitch Fix in my last review. The prices of Stitch Fix clothes is very prohibitive to me and my budget, but I kinda love the idea still of a personal stylist picking out new clothes me and dressing me better than I ever dress myself, as I am totally NOT into fashion or shopping generally. It’s a great way to build up a closet of clothes actually worth hanging up.
But, I just cannot afford to buy a full box. Like ever.
But maybe you can. And that’s okay too! Maybe you’re really into fashion and clothes and are willing to invest in clothes for yourself.
Wherever you fall on the affordability issue in regard to Stitch Fix, maybe you just want to know if there is a better service out there that does what Stitch Fix does (like you want to know how Trunk Club vs Stitch Fix stacks up), but offer a better perk or incentive that you’d love to see them have.

Cheap Stitch Fix Alternatives
I’m starting with cheap Stitch Fix Alternatives because it is my biggest pain point with their service, and will move forward from here.
1.) ThredUp
This is where I buy clothes for myself most often.
ThredUp sells name-brand clothing, but it’s secondhand, used clothes, which means cheaper than retail! Sometimes, much cheaper, but the clothes meet certain quality guidelines so you won’t be buying threadbare, damaged, or stained items (usually).
My secret is often to get boxes of clothes from Stitch Fix (and other alternates listed below) and see what brands I like (as I’m so unfamiliar with “quality” brands) and then see what items are on Thredup from those brands. I have been able to find jeans and tops and dresses from brands I enjoyed from the more expensive clothing boxes, but at a fraction of the retail price.
The quality of almost everything I’ve received has been good to excellent.
ThredUp also offers a longer return window than Stitch Fix with 14 days to make up your mind. However, if you want to return an item, you pay a $1.99 restocking fee per item, but you can receive your refund in the original form of payment or as credit, and if you earn enough reward points, you can waive the restocking fees on your next order.
They don’t offer free shipping until an order is $79 or more, but if you spend $150+ in any calendar month, you get unlimited free standard shipping through the end of the following calendar month. Occasionally they also offer new and returning visitors 10% off their next order too.
Shop Thredup!
2.) Other Consignment Options
Unfortunately, many used clothing box stores have come and gone. You can check out my list of other online secondhand clothing stores including Swap.com and Poshmark.
3.) Nadine West
Nadine West is a super affordable and fun monthly styling service subscription that sends you items free of styling fees and charges! You can see my first Nadine West box of items in the video below:
I didn’t love my first bag of clothes and you can tell they are a bit cheaper quality than other boxes I’ve tried, but I still kept a few items that I received and am happy about that! I look forward to the next months’ shipments as they get to better understand my style and what I am looking for.
They send you a pink package of 4-14 fashion items to try on in your home. Typical combos include a couple of tops (shirts, blouses, cardigans), a bottom (shorts, leggings, skirts), a dress, and a couple of pieces of jewelry and other accessories that are usually seasonal (sunglasses, beanie, or scarf).
Nadine West carries sizes S-3X but runs low on popular sizes of M and XL. Items typically cost between $10-$40!
They charge you $9.98 shipping, but apply that cost as a credit toward anything you purchase, so it’s free when you buy! But, if you don’t like anything, they do offer you a one-time courtesy to rollover that shipping cost toward your next shipment.
You typically have about three days to try on items. Just return items you don’t want in the same envelope they came in, at no additional return shipping costs.
They also offer a referral program, where you can earn $10 for every friend who signs up with your link.

Stitch Fix Alternatives for Women
Most Stitch Fix customers are women, so here is a nice long list of Stitch Fix alternatives for women looking for a monthly clothing style service.
1.) Wantable
Wantable offers “Edits” just for women in two different categories: Style and Fitness.
There is a $20 non-refundable styling fee, which can be applied to your final purchase, 5 days to return what you don’t want.
Women’s style items range from $50-100 each and women’s fitness items are typically $30-$70 each. In each box, you receive seven items. Sizes range from XS-3X or sizes 0-24W.
This is a monthly subscription, though you can skip a month, or cancel anytime. It seems very similar to Stitch Fix but with a longer try-on window, more items in a box, and somewhat lower price points and the clothes seem really trendy and fashion-forward.
Try out Wantable!
2.) Trunk Club
Trunk Club, run through Nordstrom, offers their personal styling services to both men and women.
They take the styling up a notch with a real, live phone or messenger conversation with your stylist before your order ships and allow you 48 hours to approve or amend items on your trunk preview, which improves the likelihood that you’ll love the items you receive from the very first box!
A few days later you’ll receive 6-12 items and have 5 days to try it on and decide what to keep or not.
You can watch my first Trunk Club unboxing video on Youtube or below:
A $25 styling fee is credited toward your purchase (and completely waived if you are a Nordstrom cardholder). Returns are free with the included shipping label.
The costs of items are spendier and you can expect to pay $30-$1000+ depending on what items you are requesting (handbags are more expensive, for example). Their wardrobe staples like denim, sweaters, blouses, and sneakers range from $40-$300. Outwear, boots, and other seasonal essentials start at about $90.
I love Nordstrom clothing so I finally decided to try them out! You can check out my Trunk Club Womens review for more information and what I thought of the Trunk Club costs. They have a lot of great things about their service that makes them stand out in the Trunk Club vs Stitch Fix battle.

3.) Urbane Box
UrbaneBox is an online styling service for men and women which offers two different service options.
After filling out a style quiz, you select either their regular membership or their $60/month subscription.
The regular membership allows you to return or exchange all of the items, with free shipping both ways, and gives you 10 days to try on the clothes you receive, only paying for the clothes you keep. There’s no obligations and no fees. The cost of a regular box can range from $90-$400 depending on quality preference in brands and how many items you request.
The $60/month subscription charges you before you receive the clothes on the same day of each month. Each month varies on what you receive, but the retail value is $120 or more, and you can only do exchanges for sizes – there are no returns.
First-time members joining their regular membership are charged a one-time deposit on their first box, between $25-$200 depending on the total retail value of the box, most often under $50. The deposit is deducted from the amount due if the clothes are kept, or refunded if returned. There are no deposits for the $60 monthly membership.
UrbaneBox members can skip any month or cancel their memberships at any time and they provide free shipping both ways. A stylist customizes each package for you based on your answers.
UrbaneBox members get a 25% discount on all men’s and women’s styles at store.urbanebox.com as well!

4.) Le Tote Classic
Le Tote Classic is different from Stitch Fix in that it is a rental service.
You rent and wear all the latest fashion, without ever stepping foot inside a store. You simply wear, return, and repeat.
Their service starts at $59/month with no styling fees. No purchase is necessary though if you love something and want to keep it, you can buy for a low Le Tote member price. They offer the following subscription options:
- $59 – 5 Garments, One tote/month
- $79 – 3 Garments, 2 Accessories, Unlimited Totes
- $79 – 4 Garments, Unlimited Totes
The shipping is free both ways, so when you are ready to try a new piece of clothing, you can send your items back and try something new again in a few days.
I recently tried out their rental service (for maternity) and encourage you to check out my Le Tote Review!

5.) Daily Look Elite Box
Your Daily Look Elite box contains 7-11 exclusively hand-selected items that range from $70-350 per item and you only pay for what you keep.
You can see the items I got in my first DailyLook box in my Instagram video below:
I actually really enjoyed all of the items in my box! Everything fit me very well and they listened to what I was looking for (professional wear to casual wear). Many items were super fun and outside my comfort zone a little, which is good for me. Very great quality items!
If you keep 3 items, the cheapest one is 50% off. If you keep 5 items, the two cheapest are 50% off!
There is a $40 monthly styling fee which can go toward items you keep. They let you preview your box and veto any items that you would prefer not to receive (and leave a note as to why you don’t want that item).
You can skip a month at any time.
They offer free shipping both ways, with a 5-day try-on window after you receive your box.
They also offer a referral program, where you can earn $25 for every friend who signs up and gets an Elite Box.
Find out more here. Use code GETSTYLED20 for $20 off your $40 styling fee!
Stitch Fix Alternatives for Men’s Fashion
Stitch Fix Men is a great styling service for the fellas, but if they want a Stitch Fix alternative for men, below are some great options.

They also offer fun “niche” trunks like a 6 Wardrobe Essentials Trunk.
Learn more about Trunk Club here.
3.) Wantable
If your guy (or yourself if you are a guy) loves fitness apparel and clothes, Wantable offers “Edits” just for him!
There is a $20 non-refundable styling fee, which can be applied to your final purchase, 5 days to return any of the 5-7 items you don’t want. Men’s Fitness items are typically $40-$70 each. This is a monthly subscription, though you can skip a month, or cancel anytime. Learn more about Wantable.
4.) Menlo Club
Menlo Club has you fill out a short style and sizing quiz before you sign up for their $60/month curated packages.
In each monthly package, you receive 2-3 items from their seasonal collection which are yours to keep, though they offer free size exchanges (and shipping). This Stitch Fix alternative for men is pretty different in that it’s a set (low) cost each month for up to three new casual wear pieces to add to your wardrobe that you can’t return.
Sixty dollars seems like a normal amount to budget for new clothes each month, so it’s not such a crazy, expensive idea.
If you gift a membership to someone for 3 or more months, you also receive a savings discount. Plus, as a member, you also receive up to 50% off items in their online shop and other exclusive members-only items.

Dressing the baby bump with Stitch Fix Maternity can be fun, and you can see my Stitch Fix Maternity review to see what I thought of it. But if you want to try out some stitch fix alternatives for pregnant women, the following is an option!

I totally LOVE StitchFix, but like you their stuff really isn’t in my budget for more than a once-a-year treat with gift cards from family members. (Plus some of their stuff is just too weird – so far I’ve had three different stylists, which doesn’t help I’m sure with getting to know me.) What I HAVE done, though, is found a few brands I like that SF carries, then started hunting for gently-used things by these brands on Ebay. Doing this, I’ve gotten myself maybe 5 tops/dresses now for less than I would have paid for ONE if SF had sent it to me brand-new!
Katelyn Fagan says
Smart!! I agree that one of the perks of these styling services is letting you try on brands you never would otherwise, so that you can do exactly what did! I mentioned that in one of my Stitch Fix reviews.
Holly says
Have you tried Wee Blessing? Just curious I recently heard of them and haven’t heard really anything about it.
Katelyn Fagan says
I haven’t heard of them. I may have to check them out.
Becky Sunderman says
I subscribed to StitchFix, Dia & Co and Natalie Attired. Dia & Co ignored 95% of my profile, requests, and feedback, sent the same items more than once, sent colors I specifically said I didn’t want/couldn’t wear. Be very detailed and explicit with all of these services about what you do and don’t want, and do not be shy about contacting them via email and phone to get your point across. Stitch Fix still hasn’t gotten it right, but at least they have reached out and tried to correct past obvious mistakes, while Dia & Co. never addressed my issues with them. I will wait to review Natalie Attired until after I’ve received at least a half dozen boxes, but their email game is top notch!
Katelyn Fagan says
Great feedback! Thanks for sharing! I’ve tried those three out as well, and yeah… two boxes of Dia & Co and I hated pretty much everything they sent me or it was of in some way (like sizing, oh my goodness, plus what they sent me was different than the size I requested and what their slip said). They did try to make the sizing issue correct, but I just wasn’t impressed after 2 boxes. Natalie Attired was pretty good on the first box (I haven’t written my review of them yet), and Stitch Fix I have done so many boxes now (mostly because I have free credit there) and they still miss the mark many times. How, I’m not sure after all these boxes! I’ve also done Trunk Club (two Trunks) and that was fun. My review is on the site for them as well.
Taylor says
It’s SO wonderful that you’ve compiled all these services into one post! I can’t wait to try a few of these out, especially the ones marked as order when you want, not subscription
Harold Burton says
Web designer programs like adobe web tools have a single platform which allows multiple devices interfaces(tablets, PC, mobile) all to be automatically created during design phase thus eliminationing any concern for redesign for each individual device as designer will have an over view about how information ids displayed and then decides whether this is what the wanted from the beginning
Emma says
Just an FYI that since this is a 2022 article, ThredUp’s Goody Box should NOT be on here. It was discontinued in 2021 (October).
Katelyn Fagan says
Thank you for that update!!
babar cheema says
Thanks for your information about clothes. i am read your article i am very impressive.
Instapro says
I really enjoyed reading this article! It’s very helpful and provides great alternatives to Stitch Fix. The detailed information on different services for different preferences is excellent. I already follow you on Instagram, and your content there is fantastic as well. Keep up the good work! By the way, do you have a favorite clothing subscription service from the ones you mentioned?
