Want to know what’s in a Walmart Baby Box? Well, you’re in luck! I ordered all three free Walmart Baby Box options so I could do this Walmart Baby Box review! Walmart Prenatal Box, Walmart Newborn Box, and the Walmart Toddler Box. Enjoy!
I honestly don’t know anyone that doesn’t love free samples especially for stuff they like, want, or need. When it comes to free baby samples, I’m all for them! They save me a little money, let me try out some new products I may just love, and usually send along some coupons too.
I have written about Walmart Baby registries (and their competitors) before and all the perks of signing up for a registry, even if you are a second-time mom registering, but today I wanted to share about the Walmart Baby Box!
I honestly didn’t know about these until maybe a year ago? And I only signed up this April to receive them myself, in part so I could write about them here on the blog for you to know what’s in them and if they are worth the small shipping fee you have to pay. So, you’re welcome. And no, this post is not sponsored by Walmart!
I was going to do this for other free baby boxes I could find. I still need to order a Target Baby Box (you can see what will come in those before you order one for $7). But, I did do a free Noobie box review!
But, you can learn how to get a free baby box from Baby Box University like the ones they’ve famously used in Finland for years (which I’ve also done).
If you’d like to watch my Walmart Baby Box unboxing, then check out this video below! Otherwise read on to discover what products I received in each box, and a little of my thoughts on each one.
Walmart Baby Box
UPDATE 3/2/2020: The Walmart Baby Box is no longer a subscription-based freebie box. It is now a one-time box that you can get for free when you create a Walmart Baby Registry! Learn more HERE. The rest of this post will reflect the previous program and what I received in 2018.
The Walmart Baby Box is a subscription-ish type Baby Box filled with curated samples according to your baby’s life stage. They determine this stage based on your due date or your baby’s birth date.
They offer you quality product samples and exclusive offers in a custom box. Whether you are newly expecting or already parenting, the Walmart Baby Box will be with you every step of the way.
They offer three different subscription baby box options:
- Walmart Prenatal Box
- Walmart Newborn/Infant Box
- Walmart Toddler Box
They charge you a $5 shipping and handling charge per subscription. You will not be charged the shipping fee until the box is processed for shipment. I couldn’t find how often you can expect shipments to come in – monthly, quarterly, or randomly? It simply says you will automatically receive the next Walmart Baby Box when your baby enters their next life stage.
I went ahead and ordered all three Walmart baby boxes! I am no longer pregnant (baby is over 3 months old now), but I wanted to do this Walmart Baby box review so I could show you what comes in it. I ordered the newborn box for my newborn and the toddler one for my 2.5-year-old daughter. You can add or cancel subscriptions in your account super easily.
Once you sign up they process your subscription right away. You will receive your first Walmart Baby Box within two weeks. I ordered mine on April 5, 2018 and received them April 18, so almost exactly two weeks later.
Walmart Baby Box Review – Prenatal Box
I received all three boxes on the same day, but am starting with the prenatal box review, as pregnancy always comes first before a baby.
Walmart Prenatal Box Contents:
- 2 chewable TUMS antacid Mixed Berry flavor
- $0.75 off any one TUMS 28ct or larger coupon
- $1.50 off any one Slow Fe 30ct or larger coupon
- Baby Dove tip to toe wash 1.8 fl oz
- 3 regular Stayfree ultrathin pads with wings
- $3 off any one Stayfree product
- $1 off any one Carefree product
- Nuk Pacifier
- $1 off NUK pacifiers at Walmart
- Bio-Oil booklet
- Playtex Baby Info Sheet
- 8 Huggies Natural Care wipes
- 1.78 fl oz all free & clear laundry detergent (one load)
- $1 off free & clear laundry detergent
- 0.02 oz Olay Luminous tone perfecting cream
- $3 off one Olay Luminous facial moisturizer
- Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Liquid makeup 1025 Natural Beige
- $3 off any Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Liquid Makeup
Overall, the value of the box is over $5 in my opinion, especially if you take advantage of all the samples and all the coupons! I did find it really weird though that there was a Bio-Oil booklet, but no bio-oil sample or bio-oil coupons, almost as if they forgot to put one in my box? There was also no Playtex product or coupon, just the booklet as well.
I also don’t remember if I specified my skin tone. So, if you don’t have natural beige skin (which I’m probably more ivory) the sample may be a waste to you there.
However, the NUK pacifier is worth about $2.31 so that has some good value.
Walmart Baby Box Review – Newborn/Baby Box
The newborn and baby box review is next, and what I’d potentially use for/with my newborn.
- Avent Baby Bottle 4oz natural bottle
- Avent offer for up to $30 in Philips Avent products when you sign up for their newsletter
- hello natural organic apple flavor training toothpaste for ages 3 months-2 years
- $1 off any hello toothpaste coupon
- 8 Huggies Natural Care wipes
- $5 off any one Huggies Little Movers diapers and any one package of Huggies Natural Care Wipes
- Earth’s Best Organic Whole Grain Oatmeal Cereal for babies ready to move beyond rice cereal. GMO free. 0.5oz
- $1 off 1 Earth’s Best Organic Infant Cereal coupon
- $1 off 3 Earth’s Best Organic Infant Pouches coupon
- .03 oz Aquaphor Healing Baby Ointment sample
- $1.50 off any one Aquaphor Baby product
- 1.78 fl oz all free & clear laundry detergent (one load)
- $1 off free & clear laundry detergent
- 0.02 oz Olay Luminous tone perfecting cream
- $3 off one Olay Luminous facial moisturizer
- Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Liquid makeup 1025 Natural Beige
- $3 off any Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Liquid Makeup
This box was very similar to the prenatal box with multiple items the same. However, the all free & clear detergent did not have a coupon attached to the back (like it probably was supposed to).
I thought this box had a better value. With a free pouch of oatmeal, the full-size toothpaste, the wipes, and a full-size baby bottle, I totally think it’s worth more than $5! The hello toothpaste is $3.46 alone. The Philips Advent baby bottle is worth at least $5.83. Those two items alone are above the small shipping fee, so total win for the newborn/baby box!
Walmart Baby Box Review – Toddler Box
Last up is my Walmart Toddler Box review. I was curious to see what ages this was really best for as my toddler is nearing more the “preschool” category as she approaches age 3 in a few months.
- LEGO duplo Duck. 4 pieces. For ages 1.5-5.
- Sesame Street Fizzy Tub Colors – 9 bright water coloring tablets with letters
- $1 off any full-size Sesame Street Bath product
- $2 off any one KidFresh Meal
- $1.50 on a NUK Everlast Cup at Walmart
- hello natural flouride free toothpaste watermelon flavor for kids of all ages
- $1 off any hello toothpaste coupon
- $1 off any Nestle Nido 1 or Nestle Nido Lacto-ease product
- 8 Huggies Natural Care wipes
- $5 off any one Huggies Little Movers diapers and any one package of Huggies Natural Care Wipes
- Earth’s Best Organic Whole Grain Oatmeal Cereal for babies ready to move beyond rice cereal. GMO free. 0.5oz
- $1 off 1 Earth’s Best Organic Infant Cereal coupon
- $1 off 3 Earth’s Best Organic Infant Pouches coupon
- 1.78 fl oz all free & clear laundry detergent (one load)
- 0.02 oz Olay Luminous tone perfecting cream
- $3 off one Olay Luminous facial moisturizer
- Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Liquid makeup 1025 Natural Beige
- $3 off any Burt’s Bees Goodness Glows Liquid Makeup
I was pretty excited to see a real toy in the box! While we don’t have any other LEGO Duplo blocks (we have MegaBloks instead) it’s pretty cool. I found this same little mini duck Duplo kit on Amazon and it was almost $10 there, so yea for getting it for free (or half off depending on how you look at it). Plus, my daughter likes it.
I was disappointed though that the hello toothpaste sample was not a full-sized box like the Walmart baby box had in it, especially considering I have older kids as well who could have used a full-sized box (greedy of me, I know).
I also would have loved to actually receive the NUK Everlast cup. A good sippy cup is hard to come by and trying it out first would be so helpful to let me know if I really wanted to invest in more because I pretty much hate all sippy cups…. Just saying. The $1.50 coupon makes one of these cups $5.49-$6.49.
I also do not know what the Fizzy tub colors are yet as I haven’t used them, but I will. It’s not something I would normally buy, but I can see us having fun with these once, so there’s that.
Otherwise, though, this box is mostly just coupons and more of the same samples as the other box. Still has some good value though!
