Interested in trying out Kidpik clothes for your daughter? Then you’ll love my thorough and honest Kidpik review with Kidpik prices, Kidpik outfits, and more.
My oldest kids are growing way too fast. They turned 8 in 2018 and will in a few more months be 9 years old.
What the heck?
I am not old enough to have 8 or 9-year-olds, right?
Nevertheless, time marching on and my daughters keep growing into beautiful and wonderful girls (well, most of the time).
And these growing beauties of mine frequently need clothes. I feel like it’s been one big race the last year or two buying them new clothes what feels like all the time.
Plus, for some reason, they seem to have stronger opinions about what they like and what they don’t like to wear.
When does the “pre-teen” age start again? I have a few more years don’t I?
The point is this – my girls want new, fashionable clothes that fit their growing bodies.
And I hate shopping.
That’s why I’ve been drawn to so many clothing subscription boxes, both for myself and for my kids! Yippie!
The latest one the girls tried was Kidpik.
What is Kidpik?
Kidpik is the #1 monthly clothing subscription boxes for girls sizes 4-16.
You will help your daughter fill out a style profile on their website, with fashion preferences and sizing details.
Then a box full of five pieces of Kidpik clothes, one pair of shoes, and a special free gift, all picked out especially for her, appears in your mailbox a few days later.
Your daughter has seven days to try everything in the box on and decide on what she wants to keep and what she would rather send back (though, you as the parent can help make that call too).
There are no upfront costs for their service, no styling fees, no shipping costs, and no exchange costs. Kidpik is a zero risk clothing subscription box for girls!
Kidpik is a fun, practical way for your daughter to try out new Kidpik clothes and Kidpik fashion without having to drag her to numerous stores. It’s why I featured Kidpik as a perfect gift for 8-year-old girls.
You choose how often you’d like to receive a box, whether every month, every other month, or every third month. You can also pause or cancel your subscription at any time.

Kidpik Reviews
Kidpik approached me about receiving a box in exchange for a review, and I agreed.
I hadn’t seen a lot of Kidpik reviews, and had previously done some Kidbox reviews for one of my twin 8-year-old daughters and thought it would be great to do another clothing box review for her twin sister, though both of them got to try out Stitch Fix Kids for girls.
(I also did a Baby by Kidbox review and unboxing video if you’re interested!)
Kidpik Style Profile
The Kidpik style profile has your fill out basic info on your daughter, what styles she wears – dresses, skirts, short, pants – and even gives you the option of selecting that she only wears skirts/dresses below the knee, long sleeves, and crewnecks for all the conservatively and modestly dressed girls out there.
Next, you select colors your daughter likes to wear, or if she wears them all. Then you give to choose patterns and prints she likes to wear – stars, florals, tie dye, stripes, polka dots, tribal, plaid, leopard print, or geometric shapes.
You then fill out sizing and preference for tops, pants (elastic waist or not), shoes (and if you prefer not to get shoes), and jeans fit and if she likes distressed or not, or if you prefer to not get any jeans.
Next, your daughter will select different Kidpik outfits she likes from a couple different looks – Classic Chic, Girly Glam, Trendista Junior, Always Active. You’ll then rate how “sparkly” your daughter is on a scale from 0-10 sparkles.
Lastly, you’ll select which stores you currently like to shop for clothes for your daughter – Crewcuts, Gap Kids, Gymboree, H&M, Ralph Lauren, Zara Kids, The Children’s Place, Abercombie, UniQlo, or Justice. (I haven’t heard of several of these before…)
Kidpik Unboxing
My 8-year-old daughter Alison was very excited to try on her new Kidpik clothes! She’s such a good sport and model for me too, so we had some fun with it!
When we opened the box, we discovered only 6 pieces of clothing and shoes, instead of the advertised “7 high-quality clothing, shoes, and accessories.”
There was a small bag that contained 3 plastic pins, one a heart, one some French fries, and the last that said “WOW!”. My daughter didn’t care for these at all, nor understand why they’d make a French fry pin.
I didn’t know pins were a thing? Maybe because we homeschool and my girls don’t have backpacks to put pins on or something, but it’s just not a thing in our home at all.
Regardless, I was disappointed that there were only six real pieces. I assumed the pins were just the advertised “free gift” that comes with every order as they were not on Kidpik price sheet either.
I was also surprised that all the clothing and shoes are Kidpik brand. No name brands like the other kids clothing subscription boxes we’ve tried like Stitch Fix Kids and KidBox.
This makes it harder to compare costs and value as there isn’t a name brand to associate it against.
I’m not a brand person, and neither are my kids, but if yours are, that detail might matter more to you and your daughter.
The clothes we received were all very nice, and seem to be of high-quality.
My daughter received:
- White textured cardigan
- Biscay Bay Floral Ruffle Dress with cold shoulders
- Sparkling Grape Friday Please Graphic Tee
- Dusty Aqua Dot Chiffon Skirt
- Detroit Wash Skinny Leg Jean
- Silver Metallic Tassle Boot
She looked good in everything and everything fit her, except the shoes. I didn’t realize her feet were as big as they are, and she needed a size bigger.
I requested an exchange, but they only had a size smaller or two sizes bigger as an option. No next size up.
I decided to go ahead and order the two sizes up. Her twin sister has slightly bigger feet and can wear them until she can’t and pass them to her. The exchange process was easy and it came quickly.
We ended up keeping everything in the box, even if my daughter didn’t understand the “Friday Please” saying. She kept saying that “Saturday Please” would make more sense because there is no school of Saturdays.
The jeans fit her super well and the dress is super cute and girly and the cardigan great as she’s always freezing at church.
How much does Kidpik cost?
Is Kidpik free? Well, not unless you an influencer they are working with, as I did get this whole box for free.
However, Kidpik is free in that there is no risk in trying it, as I said earlier, as there are no subscription fees, styling fees, shipping fees, return fees, nothing! Absolutely free to try out and if you hate everything, send right back without paying a dime.
That’s not something a lot of the Kidpik competitors offer!
The retail Kidpik prices for my daughter’s Kidpik clothes were:
- $19.50 – White textured cardigan
- $22.50 – Biscay Bay Floral Ruffle Dress with cold shoulders
- $12.50 – Sparkling Grape Friday Please Graphic Tee
- $22.50 – Dusty Aqua Dot Chiffon Skirt
- $19.50 – Detroit Wash Skinny Leg Jean
- $32.50 – Silver Metallic Tassel Boot
However, if you keep everything in your box, you receive a 30% discount! (Several of their Kidpik competitors only offer a 25% keep all discount.)
The keep all price for everything in my box was $132 or $22/item on average. Obviously, the shoes were the outliers here in price.
Here is the Keep All Kidpik prices for each individual item:
- $13.65 – White textured cardigan
- $17.85 – Biscay Bay Floral Ruffle Dress with cold shoulders
- $8.75 – Sparkling Grape Friday Please Graphic Tee
- $15.75 – Dusty Aqua Dot Chiffon Skirt
- $13.65 – Detroit Wash Skinny Leg Jean
- $22.75 – Silver Metallic Tassle Boot
I don’t think any of those Kidpik prices are very expensive, but it’s also not the greatest deals and steals on clothes and shoes you’ll ever see either.
(I totally snagged four pairs of jeans for my twins on clearance for only $33 after tax the other day at Justice, for example).
But, this saves me time as it’s super convenient. I don’t have to take my daughter to the outlets or malls and shop for clothes, waiting for her to try on clothes, and wrangle my other kids besides.
It’s also fun for my daughter to get clothes in the mail and try on clothes she (or I) may have never picked out for her (like the boots, the dress, and the T-shirt).
Kidpik Coupon
To make it even sweeter though, there are some ways to save on your KidPik orders beside keeping everything you’re sent.
You can always Refer-a-Friend.
Send them your special referral code and your friends and family will receive $15 toward their first purchase, and for each referral, you will receive $15 toward your next Kidpik. Not too shabby!
There is also Kidpik Basics where you can shop individual Kidpik clothes, including buying Kidpik clothes and shoes at sale prices (mostly 30% off – or that “keep all price”). But, shipping $5 unless you order over $50 worth of clothes.
However, I know they also occasionally run flash sales on the Kidpik Basics of 65-70% off, as well as flash sales on the Kidpik subscription box.
Go ahead and try Kidpik and then leave your own Kidpik reviews below!
